Don't let the blue skies fool you - this water was freezing!
'Thank you for a a whole year of Pilates classes and helping me end the year feeling much stronger than I did at the start … and for so many giggles along the way.' - Marie-Louise
You know Pilates is good for you, will make you feel better but it's never been the right time - life really is too busy. You're not sure what it is, or the thought of walking into a Pilates (or any other group exercise) class fills you with dread. Or maybe you've done classes before and want to learn more.
Starting a new class can feel confusing or overwhelming, so joining 2-hour workshops focused on different aspects of Pilates gives you more time than a regular class to find out how good Pilates and movement can feel. I know what it's like to struggle in classes - that's why I'm committed to making classes accessible for EVERYbody.

ABOUT
Serena Joy
Described once as"a Pilates Maverick", I'm passionate about making Pilates accessible for EVERYbody. Pilates is not about lithe bodies in lycra. Your body is amazing - I can teach you how to move more beautifully.

Pilates
Confused by the different types of Pilates? You know the name. You've been told by your doctor, physio or osteopath that you should do it. Maybe it's already an essential part of your life and you want to learn more about its history.

Why is cold water swimming everywhere? Is it just another fad? And why is it on this Pilates page?
Pilates & cold water swimming both improve your life, make you feel better and are perfect whatever your age and fitness level.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Andrea
(Matwork)
"Serena is an experienced and welcoming Pilates teacher. The morning classes overlooking Tooting Bec lido are an exhilarating start to the day!
Having some mobility limitations, I really appreciate Serena's thoughtful help with adjustments/alternatives if needed. I have been getting progressively stronger and feel much better in both body and spirit.
The morning classes have become a cornerstone of my week; they set me up for the day and help me navigate life and work!"

Ines
(studio & online)
"I've been amazed by the benefits from my online classes with Serena. After years of studio classes, I was unsure about going online. But I'll definitely be continuing!
Serena's taught me to forgive my body. This allows my body to relax and then improve.
Serena meets me where I am so I'm stronger and more flexible now than at the start of the pandemic. It doesn't feel like a chore - it's a way to reconnect, get back into my body and do the work to improve."

Inga
(studio & online)
"I cursed my way up a steep flight of stairs for my first Pilates experience, limping with pain. There stood Serena, statuesque. and not at all impressed with my grumbling. She eyed me up and down and said “Lets start with your shoulders” ; the madness of it took my breath away but three sessions later I was no longer limping and whinging.

Serena reads your body like a book with a good plot and a squirt of humour. I plan to stay nimble in my old age so I am sticking with her – I hope she sticks with me!"
